With 20 years' experience in steel fabrication and welding, we're a local, practical choice for builders, contractors and homeowners across Norwich and Norfolk.

Order steel cut to length online

You can order steel cut to length straight from our website on the Order Steel page. We stock and cut:

• Universal beams (UB)
• Universal columns (UC)
• Parallel flange channel (PFC)
• Flat bar
• Square, rectangular and circular hollow section (SHS, RHS and CHS)

Just pick the section and size from your engineer's drawings or calculations, enter the length, and choose your finish. Stock sizes are usually ready in 2 to 3 working days. If you need a size we don't stock, we can special order it, usually ready in 3 to 4 working days. There's no minimum order.

Raw or red oxide primed

Every section can be supplied raw (straight from the mill) or red oxide primed. Primed steel arrives with a protective coat that helps keep surface rust at bay while it's stored or built in. Raw steel suits work that will be galvanised, painted to a specific system or welded further. If you're not sure which to choose, give us a call and we'll talk it through.

Free collection or local delivery

Collection from our workshop at Unit 5 Bunkell Road, Rackheath, Norwich NR13 6PX is free. We can also deliver within 15 miles of Rackheath, which covers Norwich and much of the surrounding area:

• £15 if every piece is 1.2 m or under
• £100 for a two-man delivery of longer pieces
• £150 for crane (HIAB) offload

For delivery further than 15 miles, get in touch and we'll quote.

More than just cutting: fabrication to drawings

If your beam needs more than a straight cut, we can fabricate it in our workshop. That could include end plates, cleats, bolt holes, bearing plates, stiffeners or welded connections, all made to your engineer's details. We also handle wider structural steel work, from single beams to frames, so you can keep everything with one local supplier. We can supply only, or supply and install.

You'll need a structural engineer's specification

We cut and fabricate to the sizes you give us, but we don't size beams. For any structural opening, a qualified structural engineer must calculate the beam size, bearings and connections, and Building Control will usually want to see those calculations. Have your engineer's spec ready when you order and we'll take it from there.

Can I order a steel beam online? Yes. Visit our Order Steel page, choose the section and size, enter your length and pick raw or red oxide primed.

How long will my steel take? Stock sizes are usually ready in 2 to 3 working days, and special-order sizes in 3 to 4 working days. We'll let you know when yours is ready to collect or out for delivery.

Do you deliver? Yes. Delivery within 15 miles of Rackheath starts at £15, and further afield is priced on quote. Collection from Rackheath is free.

Can you tell me what size beam I need? No, beam sizes must be specified by a structural engineer. Once you have their calculations, we can supply and fabricate to them.
